Dartmouth College's Cost of Attendance (COA) 2024-2025

Dartmouth College operates on a quarter schedule - each quarter represents a "term." A standard academic year consists of THREE TERMS AND IS USED TO ESTIMATE the TOTAL COSTS below.

**Personal expenses include indirect costs such as laundry detergent and personal care items.

First-time students are charged a one-time fee of $249 for records and class dues in addition to the fees listed above, as well as $250 for meals during orientation programming.

The D-plan allows for enrollment flexibility during the year. Both the cost of attendance and your aid will be adjusted based on your circumstances each term. The adjustment may include a proration for 2-term or 4-term enrollment.

Additional Expenses

HEALTH INSURANCE - All students must purchase the Student Group Health Insurance Plan unless they can certify to Health Services that they are covered by a comparable medical plan. The cost of the plan in 2024-2025 is $4,371.

COMPUTER - Entering students are required to have a computer meeting Dartmouth requirements. Students may provide their own computer or purchase one through the College. The cost for the basic computer package is $1,700.

TRAVEL - An allowance for transportation is considered an educational expense and a minimum of $250 has been included in your total cost of attendance. The amount is based on distance to Hanover. These expenses will not appear on your student bill but should be factored into a budget for your planning purposes. Each student is responsible for all aspects of their own travel, and the associated costs are typically an out of pocket expense to be covered by the student and/or parent contribution.
